SAME TEAM. NEW MISSION.
The Marine Corps League was founded by Major General John Lejeune (luh-jern) in 1923 and incorporated by an Act of the Seventy-Fifth Congress of the United States of America at the First Session, begun and held at the City of Washington on Tuesday, the fifth day of January 1937, and approved 4 August 1937.
For over 100 years the Marine Corps League continues to stand proud as a veteran’s service organization.
The Marion, Indiana based Tripoli Detachment #844 of the Marine Corps League is a community of active duty and veteran Marines, FMF Corpsmen, veteran associates from all branches, and dedicated citizen associates committed to upholding the proud traditions of the United States Marine Corps.
The mission of the Marine Corps League is to promote the interest and to preserve traditions of the United States Marine Corps; strengthen the fraternity of Marines and their families; serve Marines and FMF Navy Personnel who wear or who have worn the Eagle, Globe and Anchor; and foster the ideals of Americanism and patriotic volunteerism.
Whether you are looking to connect with fellow veterans, contribute to philanthropic efforts, or participate in educational and patriotic programs, Tripoli Detachment #844 welcomes you. Together, we continue the legacy of honor and service that defines the United States Marine Corps.
